- Please save the date of Feb 5-7, 2013 for our annual SCC-33 Variety Testing meeting. We will be meeting in Ponce, Puerto Rico this year right in the heart of U.S. seed industry contra season and hybrid/variety development region. We look forward to a full slate of topics and discussion about current trends and future developments that impact us all working in variety testing. If you have a topic we need to discuss or a presentation you would like to make, please submit those to Dr. Fred Allen at the contact information below. Details concerning room reservations and meeting registration are included in the attachments.

- Our upcoming 2012 SCC-33 National Variety Testing Meeting is scheduled February 8-10 at the Hilton New Orleans/Saint Charles Ave. in New Orleans, LA (www.hhstcharles.com) . A meet & greet reception/registration will be held on the evening of Wednesday, February 8th (details TBA). The meeting will start on Thursday, February 9th and end at 11:30AM on Friday, February 10th. Hotel rooms have been blocked for the nights of February 8 & 9. Reservations can be made through the SCC-33 website (http://www.uky.edu/Ag/wheatvarietytest/SCC-33.htm) or by calling the hotel directly at 1.504.524.8890. The Group name is Variety Testing and Group code is VT . The rates are $159 plus tax for single/double occupancy. The block of rooms will be held until end of business on January 20th, so all reservations need to be made before that time. Early meeting registration is $125, if the registration form (available at top of SCC-33 website) is received by January 23, 2012. Registration after this period will be $200.

- The SCC-33 Variety Testing Meeting will be held February 8-10, 2011 at the Holiday Inn- Emerald Beach in Corpus Christi, Texas. Seed company representatives, university crop variety testing personnel, extension specialists, and breeders are encouraged to attend.
We have planned a light reception and registration on Tuesday evening, February 8 with the meeting starting on Wednesday and adjourning no later than noon on Thursday. The hotel rooms have been blocked from February 7-11. Reservations should be made directly with the hotel. The phone number is 361-883-5731. The Group code is UOA . The rates are $90 for single/double occupancy and $99 for triple/quad. The block of rooms will be held until end of business on the January 24 so all reservations need to be made before that time. After January 25, all rooms will go back to general reservations at normal rates.
Meeting registration will be $100 and we will provide information about preregistration is attached. The meeting agenda is being developed and we are asking for your help in two areas. First, if you would like to make a presentation, please send us the presentation title and length. Second, if there is a subject you would like to see addressed, please let us know what it is. If you know of someone that might be willing to make a presentation on the subject, please check with them, or advise us and we will. We currently only have about 6 commitments for presentations so theres plenty of time available. If we dont have enough presentations to occupy all of Thursday morning, we will consider adjourning early.
Several have inquired about receiving CEU credits for this meeting. Please let us know if this is of interest and we will file for as many credits as justified by the final agenda.
